It has been test ridden to assure all is in working order. This 1965 R50/2 BMW has been professionally disassembled to the last fastener and rebuilt from the ground up. Of course comes with the original Euro bars with headlight mirrors. Looks so much cooler and more collectable. This is the Euro model and comes with the Earles Forks front end instead of the US standard telescoping forks. The Avon’s seem to make the bike float around turns. The tires are much smoother to ride around turns verses the period 'Flat-walled' tires that come on Vintage bikes. The tires are Avon and have about 500 miles on them. The black power-coated paint on the fenders and gas tank is in fantastic condition and pin-striping will make any collector smile.Īll the locks and original keys work perfectly. There are beautifully bits or chrome around the bike including the triple-tree for the forks. ![]() The rims are the much sought after aluminum. There is zero oxidation or rust on the bike. (Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive). Cleaned/Re-built both carburetors with new gaskets. The wiring and lights are all functional. Re-torqued all nuts and bolts on the bike. The brake shoes (front and back) serviced. Starts easily usually with one kick even with cold starts. The bike arrived completely restored but had not been ridden in about 15yrs.įollowing delivery to San Francisco was sent in for maintenance from a shop that specializes in /2. I purchased it several years ago out of a probate sale in Connecticut. This bike has only had two owners, the original owner and myself. Purchased from a long time East Coast collector who has owned the bike since new in 1964. The R50 is well known as one of the smoothest and most reliable vintage motorcycles. The bike is triple matching vin (Frame, Title, and Engine) 1964 /2.
